Sunday, February 15th
Members of the Gawler Auto Restorers Group attended an Early Bird Run on February Sunday the 15th, the first run for this group.
The run was a spur of the moment arrangement by Dieter Fischer followed by a quick ring around for interested attendees.
With the short notice only three attended.
Dieter Fischer – 1923 Dort Truck
Ainsley Cuthbertson – 1923 Dort Truck
Trevor Unsworth – 1927 Chrysler Roadster
We met at the Tea Tree Gully Library car park at 8:00 am for an 8:30 am departure and headed to Lower North East Rd onto Gorge Rd to our destination at Thornton Park Cafe for a coffee and cake.
Another club also were meeting at this location, although in the distance they looked like English Fords.
It was a great morning for a short run to air our vehicles for future events coming up soon. Several other clubs were seen along the way, and ten Clubman vehicles were at our destination when we arrived. An opportunity to chat with their organiser revealed he will be at All British day parking with the Sprite Club, as I will be, unfortunately I did not catch his name, but he is acquainted with Steve & David Kent.
A short simple run which was very enjoyable, Thanks Dieter!
I am sure more runs will follow.
